GREENVILLE, SC, 5/10/2023 – Liability Brewing Company won a bronze award in the 2023 World Beer Cup, a global beer competition that evaluates beers from around the world and recognizes the most outstanding brewers and their beers.
Awards were given in 103 beer-style categories during the World Beer Cup award ceremony on May 10, 2023, at the Music City Center in Nashville, TN.
Liability Brewing Company was awarded the bronze in the International Light Lager beer style category for its Ultra Secret Enigma, a light lager with notes of fresh cut hay, honeysuckle, and lemon cake, with flavors of biscuit dough, noble spice, and pear. Ultra Secret Enigma is made with 100% Prairie Pilsner malt, Fermentis Weihenstephan Lager yeast, and Hop Head Farms Zuper Saazer. First brewed in 2021, Ultra Secret Enigma also won a bronze medal in the 2021 U.S. Open Beer Championship. This light lager has quickly become a flagship beer for Liability, and is a guest favorite.
Liability Brewing Company is a 10 barrel brewery and taproom located in Greenville, SC, USA. Fun loving and irreverent, they are serious about their craft and quality, and are maniacally focused on creating an experience that guests will enjoy for decades to come. Offering a wide range of beer styles on their 18 taps, there is something for everyone to enjoy. From IPAs and lagers, to Belgian styles and barrel aged brews, not to mention hard seltzers, too.
“We’ve always taken pride in making clean, drinkable beer. A beer that you can sit and enjoy and want to go back for another. A light lager is the epitome of that idea. Clean, crisp and refreshing. I honestly am astonished and proud to be ranked with so many other fine lager brewers around the world. We work hard for the love of our craft; from where our malt is grown, all the way until the lid hits the can. This award makes us want to work harder and continue to bring the quality that World Beer Cup honored in our beer,” said Jared Tuttle, Head Brewer at Liability Brewing Company.
“We are incredibly proud of our team for this accomplishment! Placing at the World Beer Cup means you are a standard-bearer of the style. For a small craft brewery in Greenville, South Carolina to be held up as one of the best light lagers in the world is truly humbling,” said Terry Horner, Owner of Liability Brewing Company.
World Beer Cup winners were selected by an international panel of 272 beer judges from 26 countries. Widely regarded as the “Olympics of Beer,” the 2023 World Beer Cup featured 10,213 entries from 2,376 breweries in 51 countries.
“The World Beer Cup brings together the finest brewers and beers from around the globe and celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and passion for great beer,” said Chris Williams, World Beer Cup competition director. “Receiving a World Beer Cup award is a testament to quality and innovation, and we commend this year’s winners for setting the bar higher than ever.”

ABOUT LIABILITY BREWING COMPANY
Locally and independently owned, Liability Brewing Company is a 10 barrel brewery and taproom located on West Stone Avenue in Greenville, SC. Fun loving and irreverent, they are serious about their craft and quality, and are maniacally focused on creating an experience that guests will enjoy for decades to come.
Founded in 2018 on the belief that the current demand for fresh, local beer was not a trend, but an American desire with far reaching impacts, they stand as an antagonist to macro produced, high-on-marketing, low-on-flavor beverages, and know that customers want a product that is equal parts art and science from producers who are not solely focused on maximizing shareholder profit. They’re on a never ending search for the best ingredients to make the greatest beer they possibly can while taking care of their employees, the surrounding community, and the environment. In 2021, Liability Brewing Company became a Benefit Corporation with the state of SC, and in 2022, earned the Certified B Corp designation from B Lab and the SC Certified Product designation from the SC Department of Agriculture.
In addition to pouring from 18 taps in their Greenville taproom, they distribute craft beer throughout the state of South Carolina in partnership with Low Country Craft Distribution.
