Liability Brewing Company Wins Gold at Great American Beer Festival (GABF) Competition

October 11, 2026 | Liability Brewing Company

GREENVILLE, SC, 10/11/2026 – Liability Brewing Co. earned a Gold Medal for Feral Garden Gnome in the Belgian-Style Abbey Ale category, marking back-to-back Great American Beer Festival® (GABF) competition awards for this beer.

Liability Brewing Co. accomplished a historic and remarkably rare feat when its Feral Garden Gnome secured Gold in all three of the world’s premier craft beer industry competitions (GABF®, World Beer Cup®, and U.S. Open Beer Championship®) in the same year.

The 2026 GABF competition featured 1,300 breweries and cideries, whose beers and ciders were entered into 107 categories and evaluated by panels of professional judges. Winning a coveted Great American Beer Festival® competition medal signifies global recognition for brewing excellence, acknowledging the quality and style accuracy of the beer.

Feral Garden Gnome is a fan favorite Belgian-Style Blonde Ale that balances expressive notes of banana bread, clove, and Anjou pear with rich flavors of clover honey, plantain, and white pepper. Crafted with 100% Prairie Select malt, Lallemand Abbaye yeast, and Sterling hops from Crosby Hops, Feral Garden Gnome has been a staple at the brewery since 2019.

“Winning a medal for the same beer in three of the most competitive and prestigious craft beer competitions in the same year is unheard of, so seeing Feral Garden Gnome not only win but take Gold in all three is a momentous achievement for our team. We could not be prouder of the hard work, precision, and dedication that made this dream a reality,” said Terry Horner, owner of Liability Brewing Co.

“They say you never work a day in your life if you love what you do, but the truth is you work even harder when you’re passionate about it and you love every minute. That is what Feral Garden Gnome represents to us: a recipe we have worked on over and over again to keep tradition alive and bring people together. We’re proud of the awards we received this year, and we’ll continue to put in the work because it’s what we love,” said Jared Tuttle, Head Brewer of Liability Brewing Co.

“The submissions from this year’s competition continue to reflect just how far American brewing and cidermaking have come,” said Chris Williams, competition director for the Brewers Association. “The overarching quality presented by so many of the contenders underlines how intensive the judging process is and how competitively these contenders rise to the occasion with entries that pushed each category forward. GABF remains one of the most competitive stages in craft beer, and these winners represent the very best our industry has to offer. Congratulations to this year’s medalists.”
