GREENVILLE, SC, 7/18/2024 – For one Greenville brewery, there’s a reason to celebrate.
The 2024 U.S. Open Beer Championship took place July 9 in Oxford, Ohio, and Liability Brewing Co. took home two medals from the competition.
The brewery received the silver medal for the Tequila Barrel Aged Beer category for Tequillin Me Salty, which is gose aged in tequila barrels imbued with cara cara oranges and key lime. The second medal was given to the 2023 Barrel Aged Evil Shenanigans which earned the beer producer the bronze medal in the Barrel Aged Breakfast Stout category.
While there were other winners from the state, Liability was the only Upstate brewery to take home a prize. The brewery was honored in January of this year in the South Carolina Brewers Cup, winning two gold medals in the event.
Liability is located at 109 W. Stone Ave. on the north side of downtown Greenville. It is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
