GREENVILLE, SC, 7/10/2024 – Liability Brewing Company won silver and bronze medals in the U.S. Open Beer Championship.
The U.S. Open Beer Championship is regarded as one of the top three beer competitions in the United States and judges more beer styles than any other competition in the world. Celebrating its 16th Anniversary, the U.S. Open Beer Championship winners were selected by a panel of beer judges in over 170 different style categories. The competition was held in the U.S. Open Event Center in Oxford, Ohio.
Liability Brewing Company was awarded the following medals:
- Silver in the Tequila Barrel Aged Beer category for Tequillin Me Salty, and
- Bronze in the Barrel Aged Breakfast Stout category for 2023 Barrel Aged Evil Shenanigans.
Tequillin Me Salty continues to be a spring staple for Liability Brewing Company releasing annually at Jester Fest. This Gose style beer was aged in tequila barrels and infused with cara cara oranges and key lime resulting in the perfect margarita inspired beer. This is the second medal for Tequillin Me Salty having won Gold in the same category in the 2023 U.S. Open Beer Championship.
2023 Barrel Aged Evil Shenanigans is a Barrel Aged Imperial Stout featuring notes of maple syrup and bacon. The base Imperial Stout was brewed in collaboration with Societas Vombatus, featured Drip Drop Acres Vermont Maple Syrup, and was aged in Templeton 10 Year Rye Whiskey barrels and BLiS Bourbon Barrel.
With the awarding of these two medals, Liability Brewing Company has won a total of 11 U.S. Open Beer Championships medals with four winning from barrel aged categories.

“Another year, another round of medals from the U.S. Open Beer Championship! What can I say? It’s not easy winning medals year after year, but here we are. Hats off to our entire team. They deserve this!” said Terry Horner, Owner of Liability Brewing Company.

ABOUT LIABILITY BREWING COMPANY
Locally and independently owned, Liability Brewing Company is a 10 barrel brewery and taproom located on West Stone Avenue in Greenville, SC. Fun loving and irreverent, they are serious about their craft and quality, and are maniacally focused on creating an experience that guests will enjoy for decades to come.
Founded in 2018 on the belief that the current demand for fresh, local beer was not a trend, but an American desire with far reaching impacts, they stand as an antagonist to macro produced, high-on-marketing, low-on-flavor beverages, and know that customers want a product that is equal parts art and science from producers who are not solely focused on maximizing shareholder profit. They’re on a never ending search for the best ingredients to make the greatest beer they possibly can while taking care of their employees, the surrounding community, and the environment. In 2021, Liability Brewing Company became a Benefit Corporation with the state of SC, and in 2022, earned the Certified B Corp designation from B Lab and the SC Certified Product designation from the SC Department of Agriculture.
In addition to pouring from 18 taps in their Greenville taproom, they distribute craft beer throughout the state of South Carolina in partnership with Greenco Distributing, Lee Distributors, and Low Country Craft Distribution.
