November 16, 2022  |  Patrick McCreless

Craft beer popularity has exploded in recent years and South Carolina is no exception. A quick search on Google will pull up lists of breweries across the U.S. and South Carolina too. From IPAs, to stouts, ales and sours, it seems like there’s no shortage of beer lovers who want to try their hand at making their own brews with unique and quirky names. However, there are those few breweries that rise to the top above the rest.

Here are 8 of the best rated breweries in South Carolina from Google reviews, based on their overall ratings and number of reviews. Two of the best rated breweries were pulled from each of the following cities: Charleston, Greenville, Myrtle Beach and the Columbia area.

Liability Brewing Co.

Rating: 4.8 out of 5 (234 reviews)

Location: 109 W Stone Ave., Greenville

Liability Brewing began in August 2018 from a love of craft beers among a group of friends. The company touts that nearly all of its ingredients come from the U.S. The brewery also only puts food products into the beers and it doesn’t filter, the company’s website states. Try some of their beers, all with wild names, from the 8-Bit HiDef to A Black Belt in Kung Fool.
