GREENVILLE, SC, 7/10/2023 – Liability Brewing Company won a gold and two silver medals at the U.S. Open Beer Championship.
The U.S. Open Beer Championship is regarded as one of the top three beer competitions in the United States and judges more beer styles than any other competition in the world. Celebrating its 15th Anniversary, the U.S. Open Beer Championship winners were selected by a panel of beer judges from 3,107 entries in 160 different style categories. The competition was held at the new U.S. Open Event Center in Oxford, Ohio
Liability Brewing Company was awarded the following medals:
- Gold in the Spirits (non-whiskey) Barrel Aged Beer for Tequila Barrels for Tequillin Me Salty,
- Silver in the Belgian Dubbel category for Dubbely Noted,
- Silver in the Dortmunder Export category for The Twelve No. 004 : Blah, Blah, Blah…Something German.
Tequillin Me Salty is a spring staple for Liability Brewing Company. This Gose style beer was aged in tequila barrels from Midwest Barrel Co. and infused with cara cara oranges and key lime. The perfect margarita inspired beer.
Dubbely Noted is a seasonal release. This Belgian Dubbel features notes of figs, raisin and bran cereal and burnt sugar with flavors of banana bread, dark chocolate, and pepper melange. Dubbely Noted was made from a complex malt bill featuring Carolina Malt House malts, Belgian Candi Sugar, Lalbrew Abbaye yeast, and Sterling hops.
The Twelve No. 004 : Blah, Blah, Blah…Something German was a collaboration brew with Kim Armstrong, one of Liability Brewing’s society members. This Dortmunder features notes of yeast rolls, honeysuckle, and golden raisin with flavors of honey, pear, and malt ball centers. The Twelve No. 004 : Blah, Blah, Blah…Something German was made with Prairie Malt’s Pilsner, Munich and Vienna malts, Weihenstephan Lager yeast, and Sterling hops.

ABOUT LIABILITY BREWING COMPANY
Locally and independently owned, Liability Brewing Company is a 10 barrel brewery and taproom located on West Stone Avenue in Greenville, SC. Fun loving and irreverent, they are serious about their craft and quality, and are maniacally focused on creating an experience that guests will enjoy for decades to come.
Founded in 2018 on the belief that the current demand for fresh, local beer was not a trend, but an American desire with far reaching impacts, they stand as an antagonist to macro produced, high-on-marketing, low-on-flavor beverages, and know that customers want a product that is equal parts art and science from producers who are not solely focused on maximizing shareholder profit. They’re on a never ending search for the best ingredients to make the greatest beer they possibly can while taking care of their employees, the surrounding community, and the environment. In 2021, Liability Brewing Company became a Benefit Corporation with the state of SC, and in 2022, earned the Certified B Corp designation from B Lab and the SC Certified Product designation from the SC Department of Agriculture.
In addition to pouring from 18 taps in their Greenville taproom, they distribute craft beer throughout the state of South Carolina in partnership with Low Country Craft Distribution.
