Liability Brewing Company Wins Silver at Great American Beer Festival (GABF) Competition

October 11, 2025  | Liability Brewing Company

GREENVILLE, SC, 10/11/2025 – Liability Brewing Company earned a Silver Medal at the 2025 Great American Beer Festival® (GABF) competition, hosted and presented by the Brewers Association®.

The 2025 competition featured 273 breweries, whose beers were entered into 108 categories and evaluated by panels of professional judges. Winning a coveted Great American Beer Festival® competition medal signifies global recognition for brewing excellence, acknowledging the quality and style accuracy of the beer.

Liability Brewing Company was recognized with a Silver Medal in the Belgian-Style Blonde Ale category for its fan favorite Feral Garden Gnome, a beer that balances expressive notes of banana bread, clove, and Anjou pear with rich flavors of clover honey, plantain, and white pepper. Crafted with 100% Prairie Select malt, Lallemand Abbaye yeast, and Sterling hops from Crosby Hops, Feral Garden Gnome has been a staple at the brewery since 2019.

Feral Garden Gnome has achieved a significant milestone in the craft beer industry, sweeping the three most prestigious brewing competitions in one calendar year. This includes winning Gold at the 2025 World Beer Cup and Bronze at the 2025 U.S. Open Beer Championship (including Gold and Silver awards in prior years). It also placed at the 2022 SC Brewers Guild Brewers Cup.

“Winning a medal at GABF is one of the highest honors in the craft brewing industry, and to earn it alongside the World Beer Cup and U.S. Open Beer Championship in the same year feels surreal. Feral Garden Gnome has been part of our story since the beginning, and this recognition is a testament to the craft, consistency, and heart our brewing team pours into every batch. We’re proud to represent Greenville on the national stage and grateful to our community for raising a glass with us all these years,” said Kathy Horner, General Manager of Liability Brewing Company.

“Earning a medal at GABF is one of the toughest tests in brewing and a dream for any brewer. It validates not only the beer in the glass but the process, discipline, and passion behind it. To see Feral Garden Gnome recognized across the world’s top three competitions this year is incredibly rewarding and a proud moment for our whole team,” said Jared Tuttle, Head Brewer of Liability Brewing Company.

“The Great American Beer Festival® competition is the ultimate proving ground, recognizing the absolute best in innovation and craftsmanship from brewers all over the country. Earning a medal here, whether it’s gold, silver, or bronze, is an incredible, career-defining achievement that signifies a brew’s excellence against the most rigorous standards in the industry,” remarked Chris Williams, competition director for the Brewers Association. “The Brewers Association proudly celebrates the accomplishments of every single medal winner.”
