Greenville’s Liability brewing sets opening date

July 26, 2018 | Elizabeth LaFleur, The Greenville News

Greenville’s newest brewery set its opening date.

Liability Brewing Co. will open in the Westone development on Stone Ave. on Friday, Aug. 3.

Terry Horner is the mastermind behind Liability. Horner told The News brewing started as a hobby before launching into a second career. Horner said the name comes from a term he uses to describe that friend who always creates a “situation while drinking,” whether good or bad.

Horner said Liability plans to brew six to eight variations of stout, IPA and seasonal brews including winter ale, a favorite of Horner. Coffee-infused beer will be a house feature brewed in conjunction with Coffee Underground’s second location at the Westone development.

Liability is the third brewery to open in or near downtown Greenville this summer.

It joins several other tenants in the new Westone project, including the already opened Moe’s Original Bar B Que.

Other tenants include a second location for Coffee Underground and a pizza concept from the coffee shop’s owners, a 9 Round fitness gym and more.
