Liability Brewing Company Wins Gold at World Beer Cup

May 2, 2025  | Liability Brewing Company

GREENVILLE, SC, 5/2/2025 – Liability Brewing Company has earned a Gold Medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup, the most prestigious international beer competition that celebrates the best in brewing from around the world.

At the awards ceremony on May 1 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, winners were selected from more than 8,375 entries across 112 beer and cider style categories. The competition, often called the “Olympics of Beer,” is organized by the Brewers Association and judged by an elite panel of 265 experts from 37 countries.

Liability Brewing Company took home Gold in the Belgian-Style Blonde Ale category for its fan-favorite Feral Garden Gnome, a beer that balances expressive notes of banana bread, clove, and Anjou pear with rich flavors of clover honey, plantain, and white pepper. Crafted with 100% Prairie Select malt, Lallemand Abbaye yeast, and Sterling hops from Crosby Hops, Feral Garden Gnome has been a staple at the brewery since 2019.

This award marks a major milestone for Feral Garden Gnome, which has previously won gold, silver, and bronze medals at the U.S. Open Beer Championship and placed at the 2022 SC Brewers Guild Brewers Cup.

“Winning a second World Beer Cup award is an honor, and I’m so proud of our team! Gnome has been so close to receiving world class accolades over the years having made numerous final tables at both World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival…for it to finally bring home the hardware after countless subtle tweaks feels extra sweet. And it being Gold? PRICELESS!” said Terry Horner, Owner of Liability Brewing Company.

“We are ecstatic to receive a gold medal at the prestigious World Beer Cup for our Belgian beer. To be recognized on a global stage for a style with such a rich heritage is truly an honor. From day one, our community has embraced our passion for Belgian brewing, and their support has been invaluable. We’ve poured our hearts into perfecting every detail of this beer, and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team in crafting Liability. Next time you raise a glass of Feral Garden Gnome, know that it’s brewed with love and a deep appreciation for both tradition and our incredible community. Santé!” said Jared Tuttle, Head Brewer of Liability Brewing Company
