Liability Brewing Company Wins Four Medals in the U.S. Open Beer Championship

July 16, 2025  | Liability Brewing Company

GREENVILLE, SC, 7/16/2025 – Liability Brewing Company brought home silver and bronze medals at this year’s U.S. Open Beer Championship. The brewery also earned an additional silver medal for a collaborative IPA brewed with Wild Heart Brewing Co., Magnetic South Brewery, Double Stamp Brewery, and Replay Brewing.

The U.S. Open Beer Championship is recognized as one of the top three beer competitions in the United States and judges more beer styles than any other competition in the world. Winners were selected by a panel of beer judges across more than 170 style categories. This year’s event was held at the U.S. Open Event Center in Oxford, Ohio.

Liability Brewing Company was awarded:

  • Silver in Light Lager for Ultra Secret Enigma
  • Silver in Rye Beer for The Twelve No. 015: Red Your Last Rytes
  • Bronze in Belgian and French Ale for Feral Garden Gnome

In addition, the collaboration with Wild Heart Brewing Co., Magnetic South Brewery, Double Stamp Brewery, and Replay Brewing was awarded:

  • Silver in Collaboration Beer: IPAs for Transplant

Feral Garden Gnome is Liability Brewing Company’s most awarded beer, with a track record that includes gold, silver, and bronze medals from the U.S. Open Beer Championship, a gold medal in the 2025 World Beer Cup, and a bronze in the SC Brewers Guild Brewers Cup. This Belgian Blonde balances expressive notes of banana bread, clove, and Anjou pear with rich flavors of clover honey, plantain, and white pepper.

Ultra Secret Enigma is a repeat winner at the U.S. Open Beer Championship, earning bronze in 2021 and silver in 2025. It also won bronze at the 2023 World Beer Cup. This light lager features notes of fresh-cut hay, honeysuckle, and lemon cake, with flavors of biscuit dough, noble spice, and pear.

The Twelve No. 015: Red Your Last Rytes is a red IPA created in collaboration with a Societus Vombatus member at Liability Brewing Company. It offers notes of marbled rye, wheat field, and brown sugar, with flavors of cocoa nibs, coffee, and pine forest.

Transplant, an IPA brewed in partnership with Wild Heart Brewing Co., Magnetic South Brewery, Double Stamp Brewery, and Replay Brewing, marks Liability Brewing Company’s first brewers collaboration medal win.

With these new wins, Liability Brewing Company has now earned a total of 15 U.S. Open Beer Championship medals, including four in barrel-aged categories.

“The U.S. Open Beer Championship is one of our favorite competitions, and we are incredibly proud to be recognized again this year. They run a world-class event with a deep respect for traditional styles, which allows straightforward, well-crafted beers to shine. This year’s awards are especially meaningful as they celebrate beers at the heart of what we do. Our focus has always been on brewing clean, drinkable, and true-to-style beers, and to have that philosophy validated by a prestigious competition like the U.S. Open is a tremendous honor,” said Jared Tuttle, Head Brewer.

Liability Brewing Company is a 10-barrel brewery and taproom located in Greenville, SC. Fun-loving and irreverent yet serious about craft and quality, the brewery is maniacally focused on creating an experience guests will enjoy for decades to come.
